Resistance to chemical reagents and solvents

Acrylic or PMMA (Polymethyl methacrylate) can resist dilute inorganic acid, but concentrated inorganic acid can corrode it and alkali, and warm sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide can corrode it. It is resistant to salt and grease, fat hydrocarbon, insoluble in water, methanol, glycerol and so on. It absorbs alcohol to swell and produce stress cracking, and it is not resistant to ketones, chlorinated hydrocarbons and aromatic hydrocarbons.  It can also be dissolved with vinyl acetate and acetone.

Weather resistance

Acrylic or PMMA (Polymethyl methacrylate) has excellent resistance of tmosphere aging. After 4 years of natural aging test, its weight changed, tensile strength and light transmittance decreased slightly, color changed slightly, silver resistance decreased significantly, impact strength increased slightly, and other physical properties almost are unchanged.  

Flammability

Acrylic or PMMA (Polymethyl methacrylate) burns easily, with an oxygen limit index of only 17.3.
