Acrylic Mirror Maintenance Methods

How to maintain your acrylic mirrors? Here are some basic maintenance methods for your reference.

1. Avoid high temperature.

Acrylic will be deformed at 70 degree Celsius, soften at above 100 degree Celsius. It should be avoided to use acrylic mirrors in the environment above 70 degree Celsius.

2. Avoid scratches.

If your acrylic mirror don’t contain anti-scratch coating, it will be scratched easily, so avoid contact with sharp or abrasive items. When cleaning or maintaining your acrylic mirrors, should use  a soft damp cloth or chamois.

3. Avoid chemical cleaners.

Don’t use solvents, such as turpentine, methylated spirits or harsh chemical cleaners, as these will cause irreversible damage to the surface of the acrylic mirror. If the acrylic mirror has light scratches, they can be removed easily using a good quality plastic polish and a soft cloth. Gently buff away the scratches using small circular movements, then remove any residue with a clean soft cloth and the acrylic mirror should be looking good as new once again.
